Summary: Three identical-looking fire doors – does that mean they will all perform to expectations when subjected to a fire test? This session, led by UKTC’s Fire Resistance Technical Team, will demonstrate what happens during a fire resistance test.
Topics covered will include the differences between BS & EN testing, the failure criteria for fire doors during a test and why fire testing is crucial for manufacturers and specifiers.

Summary:
Join this webinar to hear how the Industry Competence Steering Group (ICSG) is driving critical improvements in safety, competence, and accountability across the UK built environment following the Grenfell Tower disaster. Operating under the Building Safety Regulator (BSR), the ICSG brings together over 60 professional bodies to raise standards across the full building lifecycle—from product selection and installation through to maintenance and occupation.
A central focus will be Sector-Led Group 10 (SLG 10), the “Super Sectors” programme responsible for installation, maintenance, and retrofit. SLG 10 is developing clear, structured competence frameworks for millions of tradespeople, including those working in interiors and fire stopping, where fire door installation sits.

E-Learning: An Introduction to Fire Doors
This online course provide learners with an introduction to fire doors, their component parts, how they save lives, and the impact of making alterations. At the end of the course, learners are provided with a BWF certificate of attendance.
The BWF Introduction to Fire Doors E-Learning course has been certified by the CPD Certification Service.
Fire Door Safety Week is an awareness campaign owned by the British Woodworking Federation. It seeks to increase the awareness and understanding of the critical role that fire doors play in protecting lives and property.
