Glass and Glazing Federation Fire Door Safety Event

Overview: Seminar on fire-resistant glazing including. The seminar addresses the requirement of fire-resistant glazing, the various performances systems can achieve, and a checklist of how one specifies, installs and certifies that performance. One subject we will also address is the replacement of components of the fire-resisting glazed system. We will touch upon all environments where fire-resistant glazing systems can be used; fixed internal screens, fire doors, and external systems.
Event details: Our presentation lasts approximately three hours; and will include videos of how non fire-resistant glasses react in a fire test, as well as the testing of glasses providing a barrier against the passage of flame and heat. It is also an opportunity for an update on the current ‘lie of the land’ with regards to building regulations; giving details on where we are, and where we think we are going.
Delivered by one of the Federations senior technical officers; it is an opportunity to seek advice on any specific, glass-related issues, and potentially meet other members of the technical team.
We will also be giving away complimentary copies of the Best Practice Guide in the Specification and Use of Fire-Resistant Glazed Systems; cited as a reference in Approved Document B.
